About Hoberg’s Club Resort: Hoberg’s Resort was founded in 1885, as a lodge and a few cottages. It grew to be one of the largest privately owned resorts in California. At its peak in the 1950s, Hoberg’s hosted more than 1,000 guests a night. From the mid-1970s until a few years ago, Hoberg’s Resort had been transformed for over thirty years into a training center for followers of the Maharishi who had risen to fame from being the guru for the Beatles. Recently, Hoberg’s Resort was acquired from previous management. The new owners have begun the redevelopment to rescue the resort from a state of disrepair and plan Hoberg’s Club Resort’s rebirth as a world class, modern resort.
